Vienna, 23 November 2007 – STRABAG, the largest construction company in Central and Eastern Europe, was awarded two contracts in Russia with three-digit-million volumes each.

“Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company Serov Tjumen” mandated the STRABAG Group with the construction of a turnkey steelworks in Tjumen, Western Siberia. The contract value is € 150m, the works will have a capacity of 550,000 t/a. Completion is expected by April 2010.

Furthermore STRABAG was awarded a contract for the construction of a steelworks in Vyksa, close to the city of Nishni Nowgorod, by OMK, one of Russia`s largest producers of steel pipes. The contract value is € 334m, the project should be finished by June 2010.

STRABAG was able to negotiate cost plus fee contracts for both projects.
