Wien, 16.11.07 Official representatives from City of Krakow and STRABAG sign letter of intent (LOI) for a long-term collaboration today

Today the mayor of Krakow, Prof. Jacek Majchrowski, and STRABAG SE`s CEO, Dr. Hans Peter Haselsteiner, announce their intent for a long-term collaboration by signing an LOI. The City of Krakow plans to invest approximately € 1bn in the urban development by 2012. The investment plans of Krakow focus on the improvement of the quality of life as well as on the creation of new jobs, while taking into account the better part listed historical city`s unique character.
The investments will include: new development of a congress center, underground parking, sports facilities, modernization of the public transportation system and city streets;

STRABAG SE`s CEO, Dr. Hans Peter Haselsteiner, is happy about the City of Krakow`s invitation: “We sense this agreement with the City of Krakow as an acknowledgement for our existing operations in Poland as well as a mention for our technical know-how and our reliability. Furthermore we are confident that we will be able to satisfy the requirements set by this beautiful city.”

Poland is on a strong growth path and an important strategic market for STRABAG. The output volume in 2006 could be increased by approximately 28% to € 551m, due to the company`s total coverage in the segments road construction and building construction & civil engineering. Moreover one can expect an increase if investments and a quickened placing of contracts with the new government of prime minister Tusk.
