Vienna, 23 January 2008. STRABAG, the largest construction company in Central and Eastern Europe, plans to acquire the Czech construction company JHP spol.s. r.o. which specialises in bridge construction. After the approval of the antitrust authority in charge the Czech STRABAG A.S. will sign the contract for the purchase of 100 % of the company with the previous owner, Vaclav Jelinek. STRABAG expects the antitrust authority`s
decision in February 2008.
JHP posted revenues of approximately CZK 750 million (€ 26.5 million) in 2006 and employed at last 280 people, which STRABAG is going to take over.
JHP has extensive experience and references with the construction of bridges of large width – expertise STRABAG A.S. had to buy from subcontractors by now.
