  • Peter Krammer, now member of the executive board of STRABAG AG, will be his successor

Vienna, 1 October 2009 Nematollah Farrokhnia (63) will be leaving STRABAG SE’s executive board according to his own wish as per 31 December 2009. This has just been communicated by STRABAG’s CEO, Hans Peter Haselsteiner:

“Nematollah Farrokhnia has gained invaluable merits during his more than 30 years of service for STRABAG in high-ranking positions. The integration of the German building construction and civil engineering activities in the course of the takeover of STRABAG AG, Cologne, and Ed. Züblin AG, Stuttgart, are just an example for this. Over many years, he was the technical board member responsible for the group’s biggest operational segment. It is with respect, but also with regret that we accept his desire to once again meet a new professional challenge. Our best wishes accompany him into the future.”

Haselsteiner further explained that the group will provide an internal successor. Peter Krammer (43), until now member of the executive board of the Austrian subsidiary STRABAG AG, will take over the responsibility from Farrokhnia as of 1 January 2010 as deputy member of the group’s executive board.

The commercial responsibility for the segment building construction and civil engineering in the group’s executive board remains unchanged with Thomas Birtel.

The Renaissance Group, for which Mr. Farrokhnia is going to work, remains an appreciated joint venture partner for STRABAG in selected markets.

STRABAG SE is one of Europe’s leading construction groups. With some 76,000 employees, STRABAG generated a construction output volume of € 13.7 billion in the 2008 financial year. From its core markets of Austria and Germany, STRABAG is present via its numerous subsidiaries in all countries of Eastern and South-East Europe, in selected markets in Western Europe and on the Arabian Peninsula. STRABAG’s activities span the entire construction industry (Building Construction and Civil Engineering, Transportation Infrastructures, Tunnelling) and cover the entire value-added chain in the field of construction.
