In 1989 the Austrian BAUHOLDING AG acquired the company Aszfaltútépítő Vállalat, whose name then became Magyar Aszfalt Kft. Almost simultaneously with the establishment of Magyar Aszfalt Kft. in 1990, STRABAG HUNGÁRIA Építő Kft. was set up by merging several transportation engineering companies.
As a result of the circumstances within the industry and on the market in 2007, the Group again separated some of its main activities: building engineering activities are performed by Strabag Magasépítési és Mérnöki Létesítmények Kft., while Magyar Aszfalt Kft. is active on the transportation infrastructure market.
The business activities of STRABAG embrace all the fields of the construction industry, especially building construction, general contracting, road construction, tunnel construction, civil engineering, bridge construction, the construction of sports facilities and power stations, and waste disposal.
The company is performing its activities in line with the audited ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 quality management systems, which is also a requirement towards its main suppliers and subcontractors.
