Der börsenotierte Baukonzern STRABAG hat innerhalb kurzer Zeit einen weiteren großen Straßenbauauftrag in Polen erhalten: Für € 57 Mio. beauftragte die Generaldirektion für Nationalstraßen und Autobahnen (GDDKiA) STRABAG mit der Planung und dem Bau der S8 zwischen Radziejowice und Przeszkoda. Die 9,9 km lange Betonfahrbahn soll in 31 Monaten Bauzeit fertiggestellt werden.
Zusätzlich zur zweispurigen Fahrbahn werden das Straßenkreuz Żabia Wola sowie mehrere Ingenieurbauwerke gebaut, darunter eine Brücke über die Pisia Tuczna, Fußgängerbrücken und drei Rastplätze. Entlang der Strecke entstehen zudem Lärmschutzwände und Tierübergänge. „Es freut uns, dass wir nach dem Auftrag für die Erweiterung der S17 neuerlich von der GDDKiA als Partnerin gewählt wurden“, so Thomas Birtel, Vorstandsvorsitzender der STRABAG SE.

The publicly listed construction group STRABAG has been awarded its second large road construction contract in Poland within a short period of time. The General Directorate for National Roads and Highways (GDDKiA) has commissioned STRABAG to design and build the S8 expressway between Radziejowice and Przeszkoda for € 57 million. The 9.9 km concrete roadway is scheduled for completion within 31 months.
In addition to the dual carriageway roadway, the works also comprise the Żabia Wola junction as well as several civil engineering structures, among them a bridge over Pisia Tuczna, pedestrian overpasses and three rest areas. Noise barriers and wildlife crossings will also be built along the section. “After the contract to expand the S17, we are pleased to have again been chosen partner by the GDDKiA”, says Thomas Birtel, CEO of STRABAG SE.
