From 1 January 2027, Christa Koenen will serve as Chief Information and Digital Officer, heading the newly established Management Board portfolio that brings together the central divisions IT and STRABAG Innovation & Digitalisation.
Curriculum Vitae
After studying economics, completing an MBA and working in strategy consulting, among other fields, Christa Koenen joined Deutsche Bahn Group in a finance and strategy role. At various subsidiaries of the German national railway company, her focus increasingly shifted towards IT, where she managed extensive restructuring and digitalisation processes. Most recently, she was a member of the management board of Schenker AG, as well as CIO/CDO, with responsibility for around 78,000 employees. On 15 September 2026, the Supervisory Board of STRABAG SE announced Christa Koenen’s appointment to the Management Board of STRABAG SE with effect from 1 January 2027, where she will be responsible for the Group’s IT and digitalisation activities.
